Tempest Quality EMI Filter & Surge Protector for Computers - $100

These are from a TEMPEST enclosure for a Macintosh 2 cx.

The computer it came from had a rather expensive military-funded enclosure for all the parts - mouse, monitor cable, monitor, keyboard, keyboard cable, etc.

The enclosures and the power filter for the power supply are designed to protect against both radiated and conducted RF. These power filters are for the conducted spiked you might see if you started a large motor or other inductive load on the same power line.

These are from a Lockheed military installation, sold at surplus.

Long story short, it will absorb 10-100 times more energy than a storebought Surge protector, and the components are designed to handle surges with a fast rise-time.

I've got 2 of the Surge protectors on hand.  They are about 3 inches x 3 inches, and 5 inches long.
